A CCTV drain survey shows you exactly what's going on inside pipework you can't normally see. People come to BP Drains Ltd for one for all sorts of reasons - blocked drains that keep coming back however often they're cleared, or wanting to know the condition of the drainage before buying a property. We use some of the best camera equipment available, so you get clear, accurate results from parts of your system there's otherwise no way to check. It's a no-dig job from start to finish, which makes it a quick, cost-effective way to deal with both routine checks and urgent problems, with very little mess or disruption.
We're based in Ramsgate and cover the whole county, including Ashford, Broadstairs, Canterbury, Dover, Faversham, Folkestone, Herne Bay, Margate, Thanet, Whitstable and the surrounding Kent areas.
It doesn't stop at surveys, either. We take care of everything from homebuyer drain surveys and drain repairs to gutter cleaning, for homeowners as well as commercial and industrial clients. We're Drain Safe approved, so you can trust us to do the job properly and get it done right.
Your drains sit out of sight, so it's easy to go years without giving them a second thought. The trouble is that you can't keep an eye on them the way you can the rest of your property. Small problems like a hairline crack or a blockage starting to form go unnoticed, and for a lot of people the first sign of anything wrong is when it's already a big job.
Having a survey done now and then keeps you ahead of all that. Our team has more than 50 years of combined experience, so we're good at picking up the small faults that are easy to miss. Spotting them early means we can sort them with minor repairs, which keeps your costs, hassle, disruption and damage down.
Whether it's a cracked pipe, a stubborn blockage or silt building up inside the system, a camera survey is the fastest, most reliable way to find the problem and fix it, and we can deal with more than one fault in the same visit. It also saves you the mess and upheaval of digging the ground up just to find out what's wrong.
A few of the issues our CCTV inspections most often turn up are:
The kit our DrainSafe-approved engineers use is a long reel of cable with a small digital camera on the end. The cable is long enough to reach through pretty much any drainage system.
Once we're at your property in Kent, we find a suitable access point and feed the cable in, camera first. As we let the reel out, the camera travels further along the pipework.
Up at ground level, one of the team watches the live feed on a screen. We've done this for years, so we go through the footage carefully, metre by metre.
By the end, we know exactly how your system is laid out and where any faults are. From there we can tell you the best way to fix the problem and get it sorted quickly.
BP Drains Ltd uses CCTV drain cameras to:
We can also survey pipes from 150mm to 1000mm wide, sending our crawler camera in up to an impressive 200 metres.

Every member of our team is a certified CCTV surveyor, so you're in safe hands. We work for clients right across the county, including in Ashford, Broadstairs, Canterbury, Dover, Faversham, Folkestone, Herne Bay, Margate, Ramsgate, Thanet and Whitstable.
A drain survey has become a normal part of buying a home for a lot of people. One reason is that banks and lenders often ask for a survey of the drainage at the property before they'll agree a mortgage.

Buying a house is one of the biggest things you'll ever pay for. Repairing collapsed or damaged pipework costs nowhere near as much, but it's still a big bill, and if it lands not long after you've bought the place, the two together can catch people short.
Get a survey done and you can buy with confidence, knowing the drainage is sound and your mortgage provider is happy.
